While there was good news from Milanello regarding Alexis Saelemaekers, condition, there are also some more negative updates.
Saelemaekers returned to full training for the entire session and therefore should start at right wing-back against Fiorentina on Sunday. The same cannot be said for Pervis Estupinan, who returned from international duty with an ankle problem.
MilanNews report that the Ecuador international is in fact a serious doubt for Sunday’s match against Stefano Pioli’s side. Therefore, it seems that Davide Bartesaghi – fresh off a couple of wins and an assist for Italy U21s – should keep his spot after he started against Juventus before the break.
Sky meanwhile report that Christopher Nkunku continued treatment after stubbing his big toe while playing for France. He will try to make a last-ditch recovery at best for the bench, but it’s expected that he too will be out.

Allegri’s moves
According to both Sky and MilanNews, the head coach Massimiliano Allegri could be forced to ‘completely reshape his attack’ as a result of the bad news regarding Nkunku, and with Christian Pulisic already confirmed out.
To maintain at least one attacking substitute on the bench, he is considering using Ruben Loftus-Cheek behind the striker, which currently appears more likely to be Rafael Leao than Santiago Gimenez.
The three-man midfield would thus consist of Youssouf Fofana, Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci, but with no reserve on the bench in that area. Tomorrow’s final training session and press conference will further resolve these doubts.
