After the three days of rest granted by Massimiliano Allegri following the victory in Bologna, AC Milan officially resumed training this afternoon.
As MilanNews24 report, the Milan squad have begun preparations for Friday night’s match at the Cetilar Arena against Pisa. This comes after Allegri decided to allow the team to have a breather for three days, following the win last Tuesday in Emilia.
The most important news concerns Rafael Leão: the Portuguese winger, who remained on the bench to watch his teammates at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, completed the entire session with the rest of the group. He is clearly vying for a starting spot in Pisa, therefore.
While Leão’s recovery is a positive sign for Allegri, the situation on the flanks remains delicate. MilanNews report that Christian Pulisic is still battling iliopsoas bursitis, so today he only did individual training and his participation in Pisa remains in doubt at present, while waiting for further sessions.
Alexis Saelemaekers also remained on the sidelines of the training session as he continues to recover from an adductor issue. Allegri doesn’t want to risk a relapse for either, so Christopher Nkunku and Zachary Athekame could well be in line to get the nod again.
