Reports: Milan and Roma in ‘constant contact’ over Gimenez-Dovbyk swap

Milan and Roma continue to hold heated discussions regarding the Artem Dovbyk-Santiago Gimenez swap deal, reports claim.

One of the sub-plots to a red-hot end to the summer window concerns the striker position, and the possibility that Milan and Roma could complete a swap deal just as they did last year for Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Talks continue

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan and Roma are in constant contact regarding the Gimenez-Dovbyk swap. The two clubs are negotiating cautiously, trying to finalise all the details of the deal to get it done before the 20:00 CEST.

The clubs’ goal is to include any buy-out options associated with the deal, while avoiding dry loans, which the players are not too keen on. Negotiations are therefore proceeding slowly, with both parties intent on reaching a satisfactory compromise before the transfer window closes.

Alfredo Pedulla is also reporting that there are live negotiations ongoing between the Rossoneri and the Giallorossi, with the aim of agreeing the option to buy figures in the respective agreements. It is a race against time, but the mutual desire to get it done appears to be there.

At present, no figures have leaked out regarding what the buy-out clauses would be.
