Reports: Milan set for €8m windfall as Yacine Adli nears exit – the details

AC Milan are close to completing yet another sale with Yacine Adli poised to head to Saudi Arabia, reports claim.

It has been clear from early in the summer – after the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri – that Adli was not considered a part of the plans. Various clubs have been linked with the Frenchman, but as of September he remains training with Milan Futuro.

However, in the past couple of days there has been talk of interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab. On Sunday this elevated to it being very close to a done deal, and further confirmation has arrived.

Adli exit close

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write this morning that Adli is heading for Saudi and will sign a contract worth €7m net per season. It is triple the salary he currently gets at Milan, who will receive €8m for the permanent sale.

The midfielder, who returned at the end of the season from his loan spell at Fiorentina, has put the Saudi League at the top of his list, ahead of other Italian clubs who have expressed interest (Sassuolo) and European ones too.

Adli’s final approval is still pending and a full agreement on the contract and agent fees has not been reached. Adli was acquired in the summer of 2021 from French club Bordeaux for €10m, and with the amortisation it will be a near full capital gain.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com adds that Milan and Al Shabab have an agreement for the transfer of Adli. There are still some things to finalise with the player and his agent, the parties will meet today to try to close the deal.
