Reports: Monaco defender still on Milan’s radar as Pubill stall continues

AC Milan are still looking for the right name and the right deal to strengthen the right side of the defence, with Wilfried Singo on the list.

The most frequently-linked right-back target has been Marc Pubill, but there have been worries regarding his knee condition. These concerns were believed to have vanished after the Rossoneri sent their medical team to test the player.

However, it was reported on Sunday that Milan are stalling things at the last minute. An agreement had practically been reached at around €10m plus bonuses between the clubs, but the Rossoneri are taking their time with the final go-ahead.

Singo the alternative?

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), one name to keep an eye on in Milan’s search for a new right-back is Wilfried Singo of Monaco, who can also play as a centre-back if needed too.

Pietro Mazzara also discussed the matter in his editorial for MilanNews, confirming that there seems to be a state of reflection as Milan weigh up the best profile to go for decisively.

“AC Milan’s transfer market is awaiting a decisive turnaround regarding the full-backs and Ardon Jashari. We told you about Pubill’s preliminary medicals to assess the stability of his left knee, but now we’re waiting for Furlani’s move, as he will have to send AC Milan’s first official offer to Almeria,” he said.

“The youngster is pushing to come to AC Milan and thank Wolverhampton, who have been quite nervous over the wait in the last two days since the English club were close to closing the deal and acquiring Pubill.

“But if no agreement is reached between AC Milan and Almeria, the names that remain on AC Milan’s shortlist are Strasbourg’s Guela Doué and Monaco’s Wilfred Singo. On the left, however, full steam ahead with Estupinian: for 18 plus bonuses, he could reach the top spot.”
