As was to be expected, new appeals have come forward to try and halt AC Milan and Inter’s stadium project from getting fully underway.
According to today’s edition of the newspaper Il Giorno (via MilanPress), the Gruppo Verde San Siro – with the support of 200 residents – filed a complaint with the Lombardy Regional Administrative Court (TAR) yesterday. It is not the first, and it will not be the last, as Paolo Scaroni admitted.
What is being contested
As reported by Calcio e Finanza, the association has appealed against the demolition of the current San Siro stadium and its sale to Inter and Milan, as well as against the project for the new facility.
As a reminder, the new stadium project has not yet been presented in detail because the two world-famous architecture firms – Foster + Partners and MANICA – are still working on it, and will be for a few more months yet.

The Gruppo Verde San Siro opposes all the resolutions and related acts approved by the City Council and Executive Committee from 2019 to today, regarding the sale and planned demolition of the Meazza, the Parco dei Capitani and the Patroclo underpass. They ask the Ministry of Culture to immediately initiate a cultural interest assessment of the San Siro.
Added to this are the disputes regarding the works that are to be carried out around the new stadium, as well as the ‘violations of the administrative procedure for approving resolutions and the failure to comply with environmental regulations’.
