Reports: ‘Open to selling’ – Milan to be offered West Ham forward after previous links

AC Milan are looking at potentially signing a striker in the January window, and they will be reportedly offered an old target.

As Calciomercato.com report, Niclas Fullkrug could become a winter opportunity for Italian teams looking for a striker, including Milan and Roma. Both clubs have been linked with the German international before, and now he is heading towards the exit door in London.

Fabrizio Romano had this to say on his Italian YouTube channel, confirming that the Rossoneri were previously interested in Fullkrug before he ended up heading to West Ham.

“Fullkrug, a striker who a year and a half ago was considered by Milan, and not only that, for their attack in 2024. But that wasn’t the priority; Tammy Abraham was,” he said.

“Fullkrug could be a January transfer prospect right now. There was a meeting in London in recent days in which West Ham informed the player that his time in London is over and he’s up for sale in the January transfer window. He’s available – West Ham are open to selling Fullkrug.

“So be careful, for teams looking for a striker in January, he could represent an opportunity. He didn’t perform well in England: he struggled with numbers, workload, and injuries. He’s certainly not the same Fullkrug who was highly sought after on the market a year ago, but he’s still an opportunity.

“There aren’t many in the January transfer window, so Fullkrug is a name that will be put forward to Italian clubs in the coming days.”

Struggles with the Irons

To say that it has been an underwhelming time in the English capital for Fullkrug would probably be fair, given that he has just three goals in 27 games for them and has struggled to stay fit for long stretches.

Having amassed only 385 minutes of football this season, Fullkrug is expected to depart in the winter with new Hammers’ boss Nuno Espirito Santo not fancying him either. The 32-year-old has yet to score in seven appearances for West Ham in 2025-26.

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is believed to want a more traditional centre-forward, with Santiago Gimenez struggling to find the net, but it remains to be seen if Fullkrug is what he has in mind.
