There were hopes that Alexis Saelemaekers could recover in time to face Pisa on Friday night, but the chances seem to have faded.
According to MilanNews, the signs from training at Milanello today are that Christian Pulisic should be called up by Massimiliano Allegri in Pisa. Rafael Leao will be there too having completed full training, although he has not yet fully recovered from the adductor issue that has been bothering him for several weeks.
Pulisic missed the last match against Bologna due to bursitis in his iliopsoas. The former Chelsea player, who has yet to score in 2026, trained separately today. However, he is feeling much better and should return to training with the rest of his team-mates in the coming days.
Saelemaekers, however, is not expected to be present in Tuscany. He was substituted at half-time against Roma due to a recurrence of the adductor problem he suffered late in the match against Lecce.
The Belgian, who like Pulisic missed the last match against Bologna, underwent an MRI scan today. The positive news is that his injury is improving and there has been no relapse. Allegri is not taking any risks though, and he will most likely return for the match against Como on February 18.
MilanVibes journalist Pietro Balzano Prota adds: “Saelemaekers had a check-up scan from which a positive evolution emerged, he can continue with the return program, without risks. For Pisa more no than yes, but the evolution will be assessed calmly.”
