There was a lot of excitement about the signing of Alphadjo Cissè, but he is now expected to spend the rest of the season out of action.

While the Jean-Philippe Mateta saga dominated the headlines on deadline day a couple of weeks ago, Milan completed the signing of Cissè, the young talent who was doing very well in Serie B. It was a hijack too: the forward thought he was going to PSV Eindhoven until Milan came in and agreed a €10m deal.

Bad luck

According to uscatanzaro.net, Cissè’s adductor injury – the one that he sustained during the match against Reggiana – has proven more serious than expected. The player will require surgery in the coming days and his season with the Giallorossi can be considered over.

It is a tough blow for Cissè and his team, coming at a crucial moment in the season. After the tests he underwent with Catanzaro, the player went to Milanello. He was assessed by the Milan medical staff and it was then decided to proceed with surgery to permanently resolve the problem.

As MilanPress report, the teenager suffered a second-degree injury, a very painful adductor muscle problem. Cissè and the Rossoneri staff jointly decided to undergo surgery to resolve the problem, and now he will focus on being ready for preseason.
