AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez will head to Al-Hilal to join Simone Inzaghi this summer, with further confirmation that the deal is done.
The Theo to Saudi Arabia saga has lasted far longer than most would have imagined it to. Initially, the defender said no to the deal, but through a lack of other interest and Inzaghi’s persistence, the deal turned on its head.
At the end of June, Theo made his decision known to the management of Milan, and the final details of a deal have been discussed since then to finalise negotiations after the Club World Cup ended.
Last night, Inzaghi’s team were knocked out, and thus, a deal was expected to be finished shortly after.
Confirmation of the end
This afternoon, Matteo Moretto confirmed that the deal had been completed on his X account, via @Garante_Il, replying to a question about the deal’s status with a simple ‘it’s done’. Though there have been no announcements just yet.

Imaginably, everything will move rather quickly from here with the deal now completed, so this may be the final few days of Theo officially with the Rossoneri. With him being given an extended leave, you can already question whether he still remains a Milan player right now.
Fabrizio Romano (via @Garante_Il again) also stated as much, suggesting that all parties are ready to complete the ‘formal steps’ next week. Everything has already been accepted, so it is just a case of formalities now.
