There were two bits of joy for AC Milan on Sunday, as Francesco Camarda scored his first Serie A goal hours before the win over Napoli.

As La Repubblica (via AllMilan) report this morning, Milan can also celebrate an event that occurred almost simultaneously with the start of the match against Napoli, about 1,000 kilometres away from San Siro.

At the Stadio Via del Mare in Lecce, Camarda scored his first Serie A goal in a 2-2 draw against Bologna. The striker, who came on in the second half to try and give it his all, repaid their faith by heading in the equaliser in the 94th minute.

According to the journalist Franco Vanni, Camarda’s future is being watched with great interest both in Italy and abroad. Several clubs, including Inter, Juventus and Manchester City have already expressed interest in the teenager.

The Spanish press has even compared his potential to Lamine Yamal, which shows just how highly rated he already is on the European stage. At just 17, Camarda will have plenty of time to grow and prove his worth. In the meantime, Milan can smile as he got off the mark with a first senior goal.
