Today has been a big day for AC Milan, and a meeting took place with Forza Italia, a political party founded by Silvio Berlusconi.

Few names hold as much weight as Berlusconi’s in football, let alone Italian football, let alone Milanese. Then, few names hold as much weight as Berlusconi’s name in politics, and again, in Milanese politics, this is the case.

So, with talks about San Siro stalling, Milan have held a meeting with the party which he founded, per reports.

Three outcomes

La Repubblica, as MilanPress transcribes, report that a meeting took place between the ‘top management’ of the Rossoneri and the party’s secretariat, as well as several councillors from the city. Could it have been an ‘explanation of knowledge’? Well, it seems not.

As is stated in the report, there are two versions of what happened. Firstly, regular talks of a purchase plan for the stadium, then ‘malicious’ talks about voting strategies to get the sale approved. In this case, a vote where Forza Italia party members would leave the meeting.

There is also talk of a ‘Plan B’, in preparation for the 2032 European Championship, a stadium commissioner could become involved, if things do not settle.

In other words, it seems things are about to get even more intriguing.
