AC Milan will be without their star midfielder Adrien Rabiot for the game against Como on Wednesday, with Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci both eyeing a chance from start.
It was in the dying minute of yesterday’s 2-1 win against Pisa that Rabiot got sent off. He first received a yellow card for a foul on the edge of the box, and after saying a few words to the referee, he was handed a second yellow.
Now, it’s important to know that even with just one yellow card, Rabiot would have missed out on the Como game due to the yellow card accumulation. He was at four before the game and when you reach five, you get a one-game suspension.
Because of the red card, however, Rabiot will miss the Como game and remain at four yellow card, which means another suspension will be just around the corner. In any case, two players are now licking their lips.
Two players for one position
In case you hadn’t guessed, I’m talking about Jashari and Ricci. These are the two most likely candidates to replace Rabiot in the middle, and the feeling is that it will be a close battle between them. That is, of course, unless Allegri decides to start them both by dropping Youssouf Fofana.

Ricci came off the bench last night and provided the crucial assist for Modric, which could very well be what makes him the favourite to replace Rabiot. Jashari, meanwhile, has racked up some more minutes lately and there have been positive indications.
Whether Allegri wants to focus on the Swiss international as a No.6 or a No.8 might also be what decides the battle on Wednesday. Not to mention that Ricci has played more overall, which should be a benefit in such an important game.
