One of the biggest talents in Liverpool's squad showed exactly why there is so much excitement surrounding him as he scored a stunning goal to open the scoring against Fulham on Saturday.

But Rio Ngumoha isn't the only super-talented youngster on the Reds' books, as Kieran Morrison continues to shine in the Reds' academy. The 19-year-old midfielder has just been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for March after scoring four times in four starts for Liverpool's Under-21s.

Morrison scored a brace in a 4-2 win over Tottenham, as well as further goals against Wolves and Crystal Palace. The nomination is another boon for Morrison, after he received his first senior call-up for Northern Ireland during the March international break.

Morrison has made two appearances for Liverpool's senior team this season, making his debut in an EFL Cup game against Crystal Palace in October before coming off the bench in the FA Cup win over Wolves last month.

Morrison is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Reds, but has been on the bench for five games in the top flight this term.

After Morrison was called up by Arne Slot for Liverpool's trip to Sunderland in February, Under-21s boss Jay Spearing revealed how Morrison had been impressing the Liverpool head coach.

"Kieran over the past two to three months, has really stepped up for our U21s side," Spearing said. "He’s been training every so often with the first team and he's impressed the manager."

While Morrison may be a promising Liverpool youngster for the future, most Reds fans' eyes are currently on a youngster for the now, after Ngumoha scored his second Premier League goal of the season on Saturday.

Slot praised Ngumoha in a press conference after the Fulham game. "He has such a special quality which you don’t see a lot in football anymore: dominating the one-v-one situation," Slot said.

"And that’s exactly what he did when he scored his goal, making the ball free by twisting and turning and then hitting it in like a Mo Salah finish, I would say.

"It’s something I’m not surprised to see because in training sessions during the last month we saw more and more that he got more and more power to hit the ball as powerful as he did today."

There are calls for Ngumoha to be handed a start in the Champions League this week, as the Reds aim to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.
