Jan-Carlo Simic is nearing a shock move to Saudi Arabia, and AC Milan should collect some money as a result.
In recent days, all of the talk surrounding Simic had been about a potential January move back to Serie A, to join Lazio more specifically. Now, however, Fabrizio Romano has delivered quite the plot twist.
He states on X: “Al Ittihad reach verbal agreement to sign Jan Carlo Simic as new centre back, here we go! Formal steps to follow but 4 year deal agreed with former AC Milan defender and package close to €20m (add-ons included) to Anderlecht.”
As MilanNews write, Milan have a vested interest in this particular operation as they enjoy a 20% resale clause. Therefore, making a rough calculation, the Rossoneri would receive approximately €4m from the €20m that the Belgian club are expected to get.

Simic’s Milan story
The Serbian defender joined Milan in the summer of 2022 from VfB Stuttgart and he made a mark instantly, becoming the captain of the Primavera side and being a mainstay in the team as a result under Ignazio Abate.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut in December 2023 and to cap it off he scored against Monza off the bench, something he has called a dream moment since departing the club. He left for Belgium, believing he was ready for more regular game time.
