AC Milan are working on signing two new full-backs and they are getting some help from agent Jorge Mendes, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric were the first two outfield players through the door, and though Pietro Terracciano joined last week there is still the feeling that Milan’s mercato is stuck. The Ardon Jashari saga has become a full-blown soap opera, and a striker seems no closer to arriving.
The most pressing need though is probably the full-back position. With Archie Brown choosing Fenerbahce and the Marc Pubill pursuit having stalled, again there is nothing to suggest that a left-back and right-back will join up any time soon.
Latest on full-backs
Fabrizio Romano‘s latest update reads as follows: “AC Milan improved their bid for Pervis Estupinan with talks underway as Jorge Mendes is working on the deal. Understand AC Milan also remain keen on signing Guela Doué in case Strasbourg will reduce price tag request.”
On his YouTube channel (via MilanNews), he adds: “We’ve been getting a lot of questions about Marc Pubill. We’ve never given it to you as a done deal because Milan have always had different priorities when it comes to the right flank.
“Milan’s main target is Strasbourg’s Doué, who remains a very expensive player. If Strasbourg’s demand were to drop, Milan would gladly return for Doué; he’s a player they really like. Pubill underwent a medical last weekend, but Milan hasn’t yet made any official offers to Almeria.
“In any case, Pubill has never been done because Milan have decided to take their time while they decide which full-back they want to bring to Milanello.”
