AC Milan, late last night, agreed a deal with Bournemouth for Alex Jimenez, and he will leave the club in the final hours of the mercato.
The situation with Jimenez is a little confusing. Only a few weeks ago, a move to Napoli was rejected, with Milan seeing him as part of the club’s plans, though that has clearly now been changed, with Bournemouth set to the sign the defender with a buy clause.
Here we go!
Reports yesterday suggested that there was a gap of €2-3 million to close between the clubs, and it seems this has been done, with Fabrizio Romano giving the move his famous ‘Here we go’ seal of approval.

The two clubs have agreed on a loan, with a buy clause inserted within – though it is not specified whether that is an obligation or an option. Nevertheless, it is a verbal agreement for now, and the formal steps will now be completed ‘in the next 24 hours’.
Interestingly, Real Madrid have also approved the deal, as they will retain their buy-back clause, which, admittedly, is slightly confusing. Whether that means Los Blancos will activate the buy clause next summer from the Diavolo or the Cherries is not stated.
For now, though, the deal is done between the only two parties that matter for now.
