AC Milan are set to complete the signing of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton after a deal between the clubs was agreed.

Theo Hernandez’s move to Al-Hilal was made official earlier in the month and it left Milan looking for a starting left-back. Estupinan’s name emerged after links with Maxim De Cuyper and after an attempt to sign Archie Brown failed.

Negotiations proceeded quickly between the Rossoneri and Brighton, with the expectation of reaching closure at some point in the week. Now, on Monday night, both clubs have shook hands over the deal it seems.

Estupinan to Milan: Here we go!

Fabrizio Romano has now given the famous stamp: “Pervis Estupiñán to AC Milan, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Brighton after green light from Tony Bloom.

“€17m fee plus €2m add-ons, long term deal for Pervis who’s set to become new AC Milan left-back. Formal steps to follow.”

Now we will see if there is the possibility of the Ecuador international joining the team on their preseason tour of the Far East. Given the medical and signing should happen in the next couple of days, it certainly seems a possibility that he could fly out to meet his new team-mates in Asia.
