Romano: Milan begin talks for Loftus-Cheek’s renewal as Premier League teams approach

1 week ago 14

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s future is one of the most unclear situations at AC Milan, and there are plenty of questions to be asked.

It has seemed very likely that Loftus-Cheek left Milan in the next few months, if not this month, given his contract expires next summer. So, with no talks to extend in the works, a sale would make sense, with his value only dropping.

Considering this information, there have been multiple approaches made for the midfielder this month, given his own hopes of playing in the World Cup.

So, to aid these dreams, the idea of a return to England has looked appealing with Manchester United and more recently, Aston Villa, coming forward.

Renewal or January exit?

Today, Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the interest from the Midlands, whilst also providing some information about his long term future.

“Aston Villa have asked for Ruben Loftus Cheek exit conditions, initial talks after Kamara’s injury. I understand AC Milan also started talks over potential new contract days ago, but no decision has been made yet.”

It remains to be seen what the short term future will offer for the Rossoneri and Loftus-Cheek, but there is certainly a few options for both parties.
