Massimiliano Allegri has asked the AC Milan management to sign a centre-back and according to Fabrizio Romano, they could fulfil his wish.
It’s certainly heating up for Milan on the transfer market, in advanced negotiations with Crystal Palace over Jean-Philippe Mateta. However, the attack isn’t the only department that they could reinforce, with Allegri asking for a defensive addition too.
Considering that Milan are playing with three men at the back, it’s certainly a bit risky to have just four centre-backs in the squad (excluding David Odogu). In other words, it’s a position to keep an eye on in these final days.
Romano’s latest update
In his latest YouTube video, Fabrizio Romano said that Milan could ‘definitely’ add a defender to the squad before the end of the transfer window. In fact, Massimiliano Allegri has been very clear with the management on this front.
“Allegri has made his voice heard. He wants the club to bring in a defender. Regarding the names, we haven’t heard anything concrete for Gimenez of Atletico, while Axel Disasi has been proposed several times. He’s out of the Chelsea project and could be an opportunity.
“Disasi was supposed to go to West Ham, there was an agreement in principle, but when his agents told him about Milan, he decided to put everything on hold,” he stated.
