AC Milan have been offered two centre-backs but have decided against making a move to sign either, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Milan have been linked with several defenders in recent weeks, with doubts about whether their current options are enough in quality and quantity to maintain the three-man defence that Massimiliano Allegri is building from.
Patient approach chosen
According to Fabrizio Romano in his latest update video, the management have made a call on two of the names that have been linked with increasing frequency in recent days: Niklas Süle and Axel Disasi.
Both have been rejected by the Rossoneri for tactical or financial reasons, leading the club to explore alternative routes. They do not want to rush into a decision and want to take advantage of the right deal and the right profile.
The management’s task now is to satisfy Allegri’s demands. The Livorno-born coach is renowned for his obsessive attention to defence and his ability to read the game in moments, and is believed requested an experienced player who can provide immediate reliability and leadership.
Given that Koni De Winter had a more reassuring performance in today’s win over Verona, and the fact that Matteo Gabbia will soon be back, it appears that a more patient stance has prevailed.
