Romano: Milan in talks over €51m operation for Hojlund – Man Utd’s stance revealed

AC Milan and Manchester United are in talks over a deal for Rasmus Hojlund, but there is work to be done to convince the player.

Having parted ways with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic at the start of the summer, and with Francesco Camarda heading to Lecce for the year, it’s clear that Milan need to reinforce the attack with a new signing.

Santiago Gimenez recently returned to training and it seems that he has a fight on for a starting spot, though he did score against Leeds United in Saturday’s preseason friendly. Either way, it seems certain that a new No.9 will arrive.

‘He wants to stay’

Fabrizio Romano gave an update on the situation linked to Hojlund in a video on his YouTube channel that was published late last night, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.

“The situation regarding Rasmus Hojlund is clear. For United, everything is confirmed, with the English club having expressed their willingness to loan the player. This is a very real opportunity, because for Manchester United, he’s a player for sale, not part of their plans,” he said.

“What we can confirm is that Hojlund and Milan are no longer just an idea, but are becoming a real negotiation. The deal is being priced out: there’s talk of a €6m loan with a €45m option to buy. The player continues to tell Manchester United he wants to stay, but he’ll likely have to accept reality.”
