Alex Jimenez’s move to AFC Bournemouth has now been made permanent after a series of targets were hit, it has been confirmed.
The Spanish full-back left Milan in the summer window despite showing signs of his potential during his stint at the club. He joined Bournemouth on loan with an option to buy that would become an obligation if certain objectives were met, and the last one was ticked off over the weekend.
Jimenez himself gave an interview to Mundo Deportivo earlier this week in which he revealed why he chose to leave San Siro for the south coast. Above all it was due to being guaranteed more playing time, something that he feels Massimiliano Allegri would not have been able to give him.
During his daily video update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano took stock of the Dusan Vlahovic pursuit and the annoyance of Christopher Nkunku, but also commented on Jimenez.
“All the paperwork has been ratified for Alex Jimenez. He becomes a new Bournemouth player on a permanent basis: €19m, with Real Madrid retaining 50% of the deal, the rest going to AC Milan. There are also bonuses exceeding €3m, so good news for AC Milan’s coffers,” he said.
