Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that AC Milan have scouted Vasco da Gama star Rayan, but his asking price might already be too high.
Rayan is not a new name in terms of links with Milan. Towards the end of the summer window, it was reported by Sky that Milan wanted to sign the forward as a potential replacement for Samuel Chukwueze, who ended up departing for Fulham on an initial loan deal.
In the end Rayan did not arrive to replace the Nigerian, but this has not halted Milan’s interest. In fact, there have been reports in recent weeks claiming that the scouts are watching him closely ahead of a potential future move.
Romano on Rayan to Milan
During a video update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano revealed some behind-the-scenes information regarding Milan’s interest in the young Vasco da Gama winger. His comments were relayed by MilanNews.
“He’s a very talented player. I understand that Milan have scouted him several times. He’s certainly a player that AC Milan likes from a scouting perspective, but his costs are increasingly prohibitive. We’re talking over €35, €40 million, including fixed fees, taxes, and everything else,” he said.
“Several English clubs are starting to take notice. Milan like Rayan, but signing him today could be more complicated in terms of costs. We’ll see what Milan do strategically, but they’re getting strong interest from England.”
