RR: The truth about Maignan’s requests as Italian club make ‘significantly higher’ offer

AC Milan must still resolve the commissions to be paid to Mike Maignan and his entourage if he renews, a report claims.

One of the hottest topics at the moment is Maignan’s future, with his current deal having six months left to run. In the last few hours, several reports have emerged regarding negotiations between the Rossoneri and the French goalkeeper’s representatives.

According to several sources, Maignan has reportedly requested significant fees to seal his extension. Radio Rossonera have now provided an update with what they know about the situation.

The commission issue

Jonathan Kebe – Maignan’s agent – has never hindered negotiations with Milan regarding a renewal. Added fees are a fixed component of every contract negotiation and cannot be ignored, but these requests have never been excessive on the part of the player’s side.

There was never any talk of astronomical or unattainable figures, but simply standard requests. The management are said to have made an offer that was too low, even though the agent’s request is absolutely no higher than the standard demands for a typical contract renewal.

Moreover, this request remains in line with the usual percentages, despite Mike’s contract expiring in just five and a half months, not to mention that the goalkeeper also benefits from the Growth Decree, a huge advantage for Milan itself.

Also, Maignan has always prioritised staying at Milan, despite what happened last year and the much more expensive offers he received, including from Italian clubs offering significantly higher signing and salary figures.

The feeling remains positive, however, and a renewal agreement could be finalised in the coming weeks, as stated by sporting director Igli Tare before the match against Fiorentina.
