Ryan Gravenberch injury reality emerges as Liverpool teammate returns

2 weeks ago 38

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was not spotted in the open training session that the Reds undertook in Kirkby ahead of their Champions League trip to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday but Wataru Endo has returned.

Gravenberch was withdrawn in the second half against Manchester United at the weekend after he twisted his ankle. Curtis Jones replaced the Dutchman on that occasion, with the Scouser among those hoping to break into the starting line-up and attempt to get results back on track following four successive defeats.

"I took him off because he twisted his ankle. Is he an injury concern? That's what we have to wait and see tomorrow (Monday)," Arne Slot said in his post-match press conference at Anfield.

"But we have to play in two days again because again we have to play three games in seven days, like we had to do after the last international break.

"There is not a lot of time for players to recover but the good thing is we have more than one good midfielder."

Slot will issue a full injury update in his pre-match press conference, which is scheduled to take place in Germany at 6.30pm UK time (1.30pm ET) on Tuesday.
