AC Milan had a few players in action internationally yesterday, and this will be the case regularly over the next week or so.
The international break is one of the most annoying periods in football for some, but for others, it is the best part of the sport. Whichever side of the fence you sit on, there is no denying that it is there and will not be changed anytime soon.
However, it also allows players to shine for their respective countries, whilst coaches could even be inspired by performances in the break.
Milan internationals – September 4th
Milan, yesterday, had three players represent them internationally, though only two were given minutes on the field, as MilanNews recalls.
It is best to start with Belgium’s game against Liechtenstein, where the Red Devils won 6-0 against a weak side in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Koni De Winter, unfortunately, sat on the bench as an unused sub.
However, Alexis Saelemaekers provided an assist in the 30 minutes which he played, which can only be seen as a good thing.
Elsewhere, Pervis Estupinan played 85 minutes in Ecuador’s game against Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, again. The left back aided his country’s backline in keeping a clean sheet, solid indeed.
There are, of course, several more players set to play today.
