Saelemaekers stresses importance of unity after Napoli win: “A united family”

Alexis Saelemaekers spoke about a ‘united family’ after AC Milan beat Napoli 2-1 at San Siro on Sunday night.

Milan burst out to a two-goal lead as Alexis Saelemaekers and Christian Pulisic scored before half-time. However, Pervis Estupinan’s red card made it a nervy second half as Napoli peppered the Milan goal and only scored through a penalty.

In the end Milan hung on to secure a vital three points, even after the away side had scored through Kevin De Bruyne penalty. It is without doubt a massive win for the Rossoneri so early in the campaign, and they will hope to build from it.

Saelemaekers spoke to DAZN after the final whistle to give his thought on the game, and his words were relayed by MilanNews.

What group is there this year?

“From the first day we met at Milanello, we found ourselves a united family, and we proved it right to the end. Even today, everyone who came on gave their all; that’s the true word ‘team,’ we’re happy.”
