Mikel Arteta has been handed another injury concern in the wake of Arsenal losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City
Arsenal have three major injury worries coming out of the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City. A Nico O'Reilly brace sealed the win for Pep Guardiola's side with a new fitness concern over William Saliba another blow to a disastrous Sunday.
The Gunners centre-back is set to pull out of France duty because of an ankle issue. It has also been confirmed that Eberechi Eze will not join up with England over the coming weeks because of a calf problem that caused him to miss the Wembley showpiece.
Jurrien Timber was also absent for the final against City despite being included in Netherlands' squad for the upcoming games. It remains to be seen whether he will feature for his country but it is almost guaranteed Martin Odegaard will remain at London Colney having not played for the Gunners in a month.
He is still dealing with a knee injury while Mikel Merino is recovering from surgery on a fractured foot which sees Arteta without five players. With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest updates on Arsenal's injured stars and when they could return.

William Saliba
Saliba played the whole of Arsenal's Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City and did not appear to be injured. However, it has since emerged that he has a problem in his left ankle which has caused him to withdraw from France's squad for friendlies against Colombia and Brazil.
What the French FA have said: "The Arsenal centre-back is suffering from recurring pain in his left ankle, requiring treatment and a minimum rest period of ten days."
Possible return date: Southampton (A) - Saturday, April 4.
Eberechi Eze
Eze was absent for Man City's 2-0 win against Arsenal due to a calf injury suffered against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. Arteta also confirmed that Eze will not report for England duty.
What Arteta has said: "They couldn't make it, so I think they will still be a couple of weeks. Let's see after the international break if we have anybody back.
"We have to do another scan in six or seven days and wait and see the results."
Possible return date: N/A.
Jurrien Timber
Timber was forced off in the win over Everton earlier this month. He missed the European knockout clash against Leverkusen.
What Arteta has said: "They couldn't make it, so I think they will still be a couple of weeks. Let's see after the international break if we have anybody back.”
Possible return date: Southampton (A) - Saturday, April 4.
Martin Odegaard
Odegaard was also missing from the Carabao Cup final and he has now not played for Arsenal in one month because of a knee injury. Arteta will be hoping the two-week international break will give him to be available for the visit to Southampton in the FA Cup.
Possible return date: Southampton (A) - Saturday, April 4.
Mikel Merino
Merino has missed the last two months after undergoing foot surgery. He was spotted at Wembley on Sunday wearing a protective boot and with one crutch as he aims to return before the end of the season.
What Arteta has said: "Well, I think the doctors were really happy the way it went. Yeah, now it starts. Obviously, it's a long process. You're talking about bone healing, so you need to be patient.
"You respect the timings, and I'm sure Mikel is going to do everything that he possibly can to speed up the process. We're talking about months, whether it's three, four or five, we don't know."
Possible return date: May 2026.
