Paolo Scaroni has confirmed the hypothesis that AC Milan could use the San Donato for the women’s and academy teams, now that the San Siro sale has been approved.

The sale of San Siro has been the big news of the week, with the city council voting it through on Tuesday, and fans are now eagerly awaiting the design for the project. It won’t arrive for several weeks, as the purchase first has to be fully completed.

Amidst all of this, however, fans have been asking questions about the San Donato area as Milan have invested a lot of money in that project. It’s something we covered in a Substack bonus article several months back, highlighting the possibility of Milan using it for something else.

In his interview with Milano Finanza this morning, the club president Scaroni confirmed that the Rossoneri could use it for the women’s and academy teams. Women’s football is in constant growth and the academy could use a state-of-the-art facility.

“We have invested €40m in the area, and given the positive development for San Siro, we are evaluating how to use it. Women’s football is growing, and we need to invest in the youth sector as well. We are still evaluating things, but this could be an idea,” he stated.
