Schira: Tomori rejects two Premier League clubs with Milan renewal imminent

Fikayo Tomori has rejected advances from two Premier League sides and is about to extend his contract with AC Milan.

Tomori joined Milan on an initial loan deal in the January window during the 2020-21 season, and the option to buy was set around €27-28m which many deemed to be high. However, his impact was so great that six months later it was a no-brainer to sign him permanently.

Since then, the Englishman has helped Milan to a Scudetto (the following season) and a Champions League semi-final (the season after that). Through some ups and downs in terms of his personal form and the team’s fortunes, he has remained a key member of the defence.

Massimiliano Allegri is clearly an admirer, as he made him an established starter in his three-man defence. He seems to be back to his best as an outside centre-back, and now a reward is coming.

Now, the Tuttosport journalist Nicolo Schira has provided an update on his social media, confirming that Tomori should soon put pen to paper on a new contract with Milan and extend his five-year stay.

“Fikayo Tomori is one step away from extending his contract with Milan. Agreement in principle reached. The centre-back has been approached by two Premier League clubs, but wanted to stay at Milan and is ready to sign the renewal for a long term contract,” he said.
