Luca Serafini has highlighted that AC Milan, at all levels, have a duty to believe in the Scudetto given the favourable circumstances in the second half of the season.
Ever since it became clear that Massimiliano Allegri has made the Rossoneri competitive again, there have been many discussions about the Scudetto. While the fans have doubts, most still believe that it’s possible, but the management has continued to refer to a top-four finish.
In his latest editorial for MilanNews, the well-known journalist and pundit Luca Serafini stated that it’s Milan’s duty to believe in the Scudetto. Not only should the players (see Rabiot’s interview two days ago) and Allegri believe in it, but also the entire management. At the end of the day, they have a very good opportunity.
“Now that the Rossoneri have (unfortunately) been eliminated from the other two competitions, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa, there is an extraordinary opportunity in the league.
“Despite all of the ups and downs, the wasted points in recent months, the obvious limitations compared to the squads of Inter and Napoli, Allegri has led the team to second place, just one point behind Inter.
“They have beaten all the top teams in the table and are about to face five months with only one match a week. It’s normal to get greedy, it’s normal to think big.
“With the very small squad in good physical condition, with those 13-14 players up to the task, the Scudetto that Rabiot talks about is neither a dream nor a pipe dream, because 32 points after 15 games certify the possibility of thinking big. We should all believe in it,” he wrote.
With the above in mind, the January transfer window will be very important. Two or three reinforcements could be all it takes for Milan to eliminate the inconsistencies, or at least as much as possible, and the management must realise this.
