Sky: Allegri attends Casa Milan for mercato summit – the similarities from the summer

4 days ago 30

In the summer, Massimiliano Allegri visited the AC Milan headquarters, intending to get a few deals pushed over the line. Today, it has been repeated.

After the defeat to Cremonese, Allegri visited Casa Milan and in the days that followed, Adrien Rabiot, Christopher Nkunku and David Odogu arrived. The trio arrived, with it being hoped that they would improve the squad.

Rabiot certainly has, and debates can be had about Nkunku’s role in the team so far. However, Odogu was quickly relegated to the Futuro squad.

As Sky, via MilanNews, reports, Allegri was once again present at the HQ this morning, intending to ‘take stock’ of the situation ahead of the mercato finale.

It is not really a shock, then, that the pursuit for Jean-Philippe Mateta has been stepped up massively. The Frenchman has been a long-term target for the Rossoneri, and he would be the perfect mould for the Italian’s demands.

However, reports in recent hours have also suggested that the Rossoneri are considering a move for another central defender. Axel Disasi and Jose Maria Gimenez are the two possibilities, it seems, and Allegri would imaginably like to see another option arrive.

There is still time left to finalise deals, and considering the impact that the summer summit had, it will be hoped that the winter edition will help similarly.
