Some good news has emerged from Milanello this afternoon, as Samuel Chukwueze returned to full training with the team.
On Wednesday, it emerged that Chukwueze had not trained with his team-mates because of a physical problem, and this led to speculation that he might be out of the Serie A opener on Saturday against Cremonese.
However, Sky (via MilanNews) are reporting that Chukwueze returned to regular training with the team today and will therefore be available to Massimiliano Allegri for the home match in two days.
The Nigerian – who has also been at the centre of some transfer rumours – had been struggling with a minor muscle problem he picked up in recent days.
Just one absentee?
It should be remembered that against the Grigiorossi, the Milan coach will have to do without Rafael Leao. The Portuguese forward will sit out after the calf injury he sustained last Sunday in the Coppa Italia match against Bari.
His condition will be evaluated day by day, in the hope that he can recover for the next league match away to Lecce. However, he will not be risked in round one and thus Allegri is likely to go with Santiago Gimenez up front alongside Christian Pulisic.
