Sky: Allegri’s sarcastic comment to staff during difficult start vs. Cagliari

The scoreline between AC Milan and Cagliari does not give any difference in how the game played out. It was a very 1-0 win, and the Rossoneri had to fight.

One of the biggest challenges for Milan this year has been fighting against the smaller teams. Fighting against those at the top end of the division has proven to be an easier feat than most may have expected.

In the games where the Rossoneri have been expected to get through without injuries, though, there have been problems. Cremonese, Sassuolo and Pisa are the most notable, as the three promoted teams.

However, they are not the only cases of problematic fixtures and it needs to be fixed if the Diavolo are to fight for a top four spot, let alone the Scudetto.

Allegri’s comments

Winning against Cagliari, after beating Verona 3-0, is a big result, then. Of course, it shouldn’t be, but progress is progress.

“We didn’t start badly…”, stated the coach with a ‘sarcastic undertone’, highlighting that he still may not be happy with the issues against smaller teams. Nevertheless, the result was achieved in the end, and for now, that is all that matters.
