Sky: Brown ‘honours’ agreements and commitments to Fenerbahce and rejects Milan

This morning, Archie Brown will head to Turkey to seal a move to Fenerbahce, despite extensive efforts from AC Milan.

In the past 24 hours, Milan ramped up the interest in Brown. A feasible agreement was on the cards with an affordable request from Gent. However, the problem was that the Rossoneri were behind Fenerbahce, who had been laying the seeds for some time.

It seemed that this may not matter, though, as both clubs sent private jets to Belgium last night for the defender. Considering Matteo Moretto had reported that the player ‘prioritised’ a move to the Diavolo it seemed positive. This is not the case, though.

Battle Lost

As Sky Sport (via Gianluca Di Marzio) write, the left-back is heading to Turkey this morning to seal a move to Fenerbahce. According to the report, the original comittments and agreements will be ‘honoured’, despite the new interest from the Rossoneri.

Considering the move had been quite heavily debated, it may not be the worst thing for Milan. However, it could be a deal that is regretted in years to come. We shall have to see.

For now, though, it is back to the drawing board for the Diavolo, who have money to play with after Theo Hernandez’s departure earlier this week.
