Sky: Dumfries to return to Milano after suffering ankle knock – what it means for the Derby

Denzel Dumfries has been a particularly interesting character in the Derby della Madonnina in recent years, and AC Milan will be interested in his return to Italy.

The international break can be a blessing and a curse; whilst on a bad run, it can be a nice break. However, it can also break up momentum, which sides in good form do not really need. For Milan, they will be between both.

Whilst they are unbeaten since the first week, jumping back into Serie A action with a Derby della Madonnina is certainly a scary prospect.

Dumfries for the Derby?

So far, they are making their way through the international break without any worries. There are no injury concerns to contend with, and they should actually have a few players ready for the Derby after the last break. However, the same may not be said for the Nerazzurri.

As Sky Sport, via MilanPress, reported last night, Dumfries will return to Milano early after having some discomfort in his ankle. The fact that he was to return ‘immediately’ with the concern suggests it may be something to contend with for the derby.

However, it seems that there are no major concerns at this moment; it is only a concern. However, it will certainly have to be watched over the next week.
