Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano has revealed the sense of attachment that Fikayo Tomori feels towards AC Milan.
Tomori instantly established himself as a top-level centre-back in Serie A when he arrived on an initial loan from Chelsea in 2020 that was made permanent six months later. He was a crucial part of the 2021-22 Scudetto win, and seems back to his near-best after a couple of more difficult seasons.
As a result of his resurgence, there is a lot of talk in the media about a possible contract renewal. As a reminder, Tomori could have gone to Juventus or Spurs in the last couple of windows, but he chose to turn them down in favour of fighting for a place at Milan.
Tomori’s love for Milan
Peppe Di Stefano was a guest on Andrea Longoni’s Milan Hello YouTube channel. In this lengthy chat, the Sky journalist shared many anecdotes, lifting the lid on Tomori a bit as well.
“Fikayo Tomori seriously hurt himself in Bergamo. His leg nearly got stuck in the ground, and he was in serious danger of injuring his knee. In addition to the risk to his knee, the defender suffered a severe blow to his quadriceps, causing an effusion,” he began (via MilanNews).

“Milan played the match on Tuesday, and they took to the field again on Sunday evening, four days later. On Wednesday, Tomori went for tests that ruled out any injuries, and he couldn’t walk.
“I’ll tell you a story. In Bergamo, the bus coincided with the journalists’ exit area. I was leaving and saw Fik hugging one of Allegri’s aides, he couldn’t walk to the bus. Fikayo Tomori told the staff on Friday afternoon that he was ready, that he wanted to play.
“The three guys in defence – Gabbia, Tomori, and Pavlovic – are the same as last year, defensive disasters. Their mentality has changed. Allegri has touched the right keys.”
