Sky: Leao and Loftus-Cheek from the start – Allegri planning changes for Milan-Roma

Before today, it seemed like Massimiliano Allegri would be forced into a few changes. However, the Italian may actually be in control at AC Milan.

It is no surprise that, yet again, Milan are at the mercy of injuries. Fikayo Tomori, Santiago Gimenez and Rafael Leao all suffered knocks in midweek, and it seemed, at one point, that they were all going to miss the game.

However, it now seems like Leao could start the game, whilst Gimenez may be able to get a place on the bench, but this is still a bit unlikely, given the discomfort in his ankle.

Leao x Loftus

This morning, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku were seemingly going to be the front two, but with Leao’s recovery, that changes. So, Sky report (via MilanNews) that Leao will keep his place up top, and partner Nkunku, who is ready to make an impact.

With this in mind, Loftus-Cheek will move back into the midfield, perhaps in the place of Samuele Ricci, which will be a benefit to Luka Modric, given he will have a replacement on the bench. After his recent heavy workload, the Italian is seen as the only real replacement for him at the moment.

Whether Gimenez will be available too will be seen in the next few days. However, it seems like the team may already be shaped up.
