The AC Milan squad are getting ready for their game against Genoa at San Siro on Thursday night, and they trained in the afternoon again.
Milan ended 2025 with a win over Hellas Verona and began 2026 with a narrow victory in Cagliari to keep pace with the others at the top of the table. Now, they are hoping to make it three wins on the spin against Daniele De Rossi’s men, who are in a bit of a relegation battle.
Updates from training
According to Peppe Di Stefano – who spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews) – Ruben Loftus-Cheek trained separately today due to a minor physical problem. It will be clear in the next day or so whether this minor interruption will affect his availability for the visit of the Grifone in two days.
Christopher Nkunku also trained separately again, with the Frenchman still struggling with an ankle problem he picked up in the win over Verona on December 28, a match in which he also scored his first two Serie A goals for the Rossoneri.
Wednesday’s session feels like the all-important one for both players. While Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are feeling better and are hoping to start, not having Nkunku or Loftus-Cheek would once again leave Massimiliano Allegri very light on options up front.
