Harry Maguire could swap Manchester United for Serie A in the January window, with AC Milan and Roma considering an approach.

Several sources have reported that Milan are looking to sign a centre-back in the winter mercato. Massimiliano Allegri wants someone who can come in and provide a bit of experience and reliability, given that the department is currently a bit thin on depth.

A number of names have already been linked, from Federico Gatti to Kim Min-jae, however it seems Igli Tare and co. are having issues finding the right opportunity to seize. So, things could drag on until the final week of the window.

Milan in for Maguire?

According to Sky, Milan are taking a look at Harry Maguire, the Manchester United defender whose contract expires in June. He’s only made 10 appearances so far this season and eight came in the Premier League.

Due to injuries and also choices from the previous coach Ruben Amorim, the former Sheffield United man hasn’t played since early November. So, it’s not out of the question that he could leave the Red Devils early in January.

Milan and Roma are considering making an approach to sign the England opportunity. Both see it as an opportunity to strengthen the defence on potentially advantageous terms, though there is nothing too concrete now.
