Sky: Milan are the kings of 90+ – Allegri’s side rank first for late goals

AC Milan have developed a bit of a habit for scoring late goals, and they have often been important this season.

Over the course of the season, Milan’s game plan has become more and more noticeable. Soak up pressure and then strike when the moment is right to do so, and it seems Massimiliano Allegri’s side have got a bit of a habit in them.

Allegri’s advantage

It has been clear throughout this year that the Rossoneri have struck late on several occasions. In fact, eight of their 38 goals this season have been scored in the final 15 minutes, and whilst some have been comforters, there have been some important strikes.

As MilanPress relays from Sky, the Diavolo actually sit top of the statistic charts in terms of goals after the 90th minute. They have claimed three points from these goals, each of which has saved a result; the draws against Pisa, Genoa and more recently Fiorentina.

Juventus and Lecce have also claimed as many points after the clock strikes the 90th minute, whilst Napoli, Atalanta, Torino and Parma have picked up two points.

Everyone would certainly prefer if these goals came sooner, but there can be few complaints. After all, Milan are still 22 games unbeaten in the league.
