Christian Pulisic missed out on the first clash against Lazio on Saturday evening, but according to a report, AC Milan are hoping to have him back for the second one on Thursday.
During training earlier this week, Pulisic sustained a ‘mild muscle strain’ and Milan’s medical staff immediately sidelined him. The player himself was hoping to make it back in time for Saturday’s clash against Lazio, but the Rossoneri decided not to call him up as a precaution.
Pulisic was frustrated by the medical staff’s decision, very keen on continuing his good form, but he ultimately accepted it. According to Sky Italia (via MilanNews) he continues his individual program at Milanello today, but there is optimism that he will be back in perfect condition for the Lazio clash.
After the league encounter, the two teams will face each other in the Coppa Italia, and the game will also be played in Rome instead. In short, it’s expected to be a more difficult game and having Pulisic available would certainly be a boost.
Then again, Milan aren’t willing to take any risks with their star as they know how important he is for the team, and thus cannot afford to have him sidelined for several weeks. The next few training sessions should give us some more updates on the matter.
