AC Milan’s interest in signing Breel Embolo from AS Monaco seems to be serious, with new contacts having taken place.
In a behind closed doors press conference given to journalists late last month, Igli Tare confirmed what the plan is for the No.9 role. The desire is to sign another striker, given the departures of Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham, plus the imminent one of Francesco Camarda.
Being more specific, the sporting director spoke of a desire to sign a profile similar to Olivier Giroud in his penalty area instincts and his physicality, which narrows down the list a bit.
New talks over Embolo
According to Sky, Milan’s contacts for Breel Embolo continue. The Rossoneri have recently made moves to acquire the Swiss striker, who has only one year left on his contract with Monaco and could be acquired on ‘favourable terms’.

The player is ‘motivated’ by the idea and would like to test himself in a new challenge. Milan are working to determine if Embolo is the right candidate to come in and work alongside Santiago Gimenez, who was a €35m investment just a few months ago.
Embolo has worn the Monaco shirt since the summer of 2022, when he was purchased from Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the last three seasons in the Principality, he has made 89 appearances and scored 22 goals and 13 assists.
