Victor Boniface seems to be rising AC Milan’s list of striker candidates, and a report has claimed that there were contacts held on Tuesday.

Milan have made it known they are searching for a striker, and nine months ago the club got a first-hand look at what may be the answer. Boniface played in the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, scoring an offside goal and then netting the winner.

Boniface: Talks held

In 2023-24, his goals were decisive in the Bundesliga title win under Xabi Alonso. The Nigerian had won two consecutive league titles in Norway and was on the verge of winning a third straight with St. Gilloise in Belgium (which they lost in the last second).

Sky write that ‘contacts have been confirmed’ and the Nigerian is a name the Rossoneri are considering for their attack. Born in 2000, he exploded in Germany with 21 goals and 10 assists in the title-winning year.

He only managed 11 goals in the last season, despite missing several games due to injury. One of these goals came against Milan, as mentioned, and in that game the directors will have seen what he can bring.

Standing 1.90m tall, physically strong, accurate with his shooting and also an excellent penalty taker (90% in his career), he’s almost an Ibrahimović-esque figure when it comes to his way of playing but also his league wins.

He started out in his native Nigeria at youth level and then flew far away to Norway, playing for the renowned Bodø/Glimt, where he won two titles in a row. In 2022, he moved to Union St. Gilloise, where he narrowly missed out on the Belgian title.

A year later, he moved again to Leverkusen, where he won the Bundesliga on his first try. His career tally stands at 72 goals in 179 club appearances.
