Sky: Okafor a serious candidate to stay as Milan’s transfer demands become clear

Noah Okafor’s performances in preseason have been impressive so far, and it could change his fate at AC Milan.

Okafor started last season as the deputy for Rafael Leao, scoring an important goal in the first game against Torino. Aside from a couple of assists, however, that’s all he achieved during the first half of the season and Milan thus decided to send him out on loan in January to Napoli.

It was obvious from the start that they would not use their €23m+ option to buy, and thus he returned to base with his future still up in the air. Braces against Liverpool and Perth Glory in preseason, though, have forced some reflections.

Noah’s arc

According to what is being reported by Sky, Okafor could remain at AC Milan. The Rossoneri will not consider loan offers, and will therefore only evaluate any bids that come in which would result in a permanent transfer.

The asking price is around €15m for the former Red Bull Salzburg man, which is around what Milan paid for the versatile forward. However, the player is convincing Massimiliano Allegri that he can be useful, and the idea of him staying is not beyond the realms of possibility.
