Sky: Ruben Loftus-Cheek given second England call-up under Tuchel

AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been granted a second international call-up by England head coach Thomas Tuchel.

There have been some interesting selections made by Tuchel in the past few internationals. One that many would perhaps be a little shocked by is Loftus-Cheek, who has not been a mainstay for Milan much lately.

Even last season, the Englishman was a touch-and-go player, and since his first Three Lions call-up, he has not really been a star in the midfield, with Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana being preferred to the Englishman.

Nevertheless, Tuchel has opted to go for his Chelsea midfielder again for the next round of international games, which take place next week (October 9 & 14), as Sky report this morning.

Despite the midfielder not playing a minute in his last call-up, the German is said to have been impressed with the squad as a whole, so he sees no reason to make any changes, insisting they have a chance to maintain standards and keep places.

For Loftus-Cheek, he will be looking for a first England appearance in seven years, with his last games for his country coming in the 2018 World Cup, where he played four times, assisting once.
