SM: Jimenez to Bournemouth ‘done’ – Milan exit structured with ‘mandatory’ potential

AC Milan will finalise a move for Alex Jimenez today, it seems, with Bournemouth ready to bring the Spaniard to England.

Things with Jimenez have been strange this summer. The Spaniard seemed to be heading towards staying with Milan at one point, especially with the club rejecting advances from Napoli for a permanent exit.

However, just a few weeks on, it seems he actually could have played his final game for the Rossoneri.

Jimenez’s mad summer

Como tried their luck with a move, as did Roma. Then, Bournemouth came in with a loan-to-buy proposal, which has advanced rather quickly, resulting in Fabrizio Romano giving the move the ‘Here we go’ this morning.

Now, our colleague from SempreMilan.it, Luca Maninetti, has offered some more details about the Spaniard’s departure.

For the loan itself, the Cherries will pay €1.5 million for the season, though they will have the option to buy the defender, also included, which is worth €18.5m. It is worth considering, though, that this will become a mandatory clause if a certain number of appearances is reached.

Things have moved quickly and turned on their head, considering the Diavolo were so against a move initially. Though there have been, now ‘silenced’ suggestions about a rift with Massimiliano Allegri.
