James Maddison (ACL): The midfielder is a long-term absentee following surgery for a cruciate ligament injury sustained in August. He is not expected to return to first-team action until the 2026 pre-season.
Dominic Solanke (Ankle):Solanke is progressing after ankle surgery in October but remains unavailable for the immediate festive fixtures. Thomas Frank has hinted at a late January 2026 return for the striker.
Dejan Kulusevski (Knee): The Swedish international continues to struggle with a persistent knee issue that has sidelined him for much of the campaign. His current return date is tentatively set for late January 2026.
Destiny Udogie (Hamstring): Udogie is currently recovering from a hamstring strain picked up during the draw with Newcastle earlier this month. He is expected to be fit for selection by January 1, 2026, for the clash against Brentford.
Kota Takai (Foot/Thigh): The summer signing is still awaiting his competitive first-team debut due to a combination of plantar fasciitis and a subsequent thigh injury. He has recently played minutes for the Under-21s to build fitness and is targeting a full return to the senior squad by mid-January 2026.
Xavi Simons (Suspended):Simons is serving a three-match ban following a straight red card against Liverpool for serious foul play. He will be ineligible for selection until the trip to Bournemouth on January 7, 2026.
Cristian Romero (Suspended): The captain is serving a one-match suspension for two yellow cards, though he also faces a potential extended ban due to an ongoing FA charge. Barring further sanctions, he is eligible to return on January 1, 2026.
Pape Matar Sarr & Yves Bissouma (AFCON): Both players have joined their respective international squads for the Africa Cup of Nations and will miss several club fixtures. Depending on the team's progress, they are expected back between mid-January and early February 2026.
