AC Milan are planning a meeting with Mike Maignan’s entourage in the coming days, and it could be an ‘important’ one.
There has been a lot of mixed messaging coming out regarding Maignan’s future. As a reminder, his deal expires at the end of the season which means that in a few months he could leave on a free transfer. He could even pen a pre-contract from January with a team abroad.
In a recent report, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke about an offer from the management that the Frenchman appears likely to accept. Yet, there has been silence from some of the more prominent sources, at least until now.
‘An important meeting’
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel, journalist Matteo Moretto offered some interesting news regarding Maignan’s future, suggesting that we will know more very soon.
“There’s been some big news in the last few hours. We can confirm that Milan is planning an important meeting with Mike Maignan’s agent in the coming days,” he said.
“Yes, because in recent days, coach Massimiliano Allegri has also put a lot of pressure on the goalkeeper to stay for the next few years. Allegri was crucial this summer in securing Mike’s loyalty, as were his goalkeeping coach and staff.”
